One way to end this economic downturn (essentially caused by the Republicans) is to focus attention on putting more people back to work at decent wages. Since nothing can motivate the private sector to support such a program, it is up to the federal government to do the job.
Much of the country’s infrastructure is in dire need of repair. Fixing it would not only be a great social and economic service, it would also create a large body of consumers capable of reviving the economy.
