“Stimulus Talk Yields to Calls to Cut Deficits” (TIMES. 6/9/10)

According to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, “we’ll have a continued recovery, but it won’t feel terrific.” That sounds like double-talk to me and reflects a callous disregard for those people who are not feeling “terrific.”

ALL THE NEWS THAT ‘S FIT TO PRINT has to give more coverage to the actual condition of working people in the USA, including a more precise estimate of the rate of unemployment.

This is not the time to cut the budget. FDR did that in 1937 and derailed the recovery the country was experiencing then. Now, the USA needs a massive jobs-creation program; the deficit can be dealt with later.

However, it might be time to cut some personnel from the Obama administration. Do we really need Larry Summers?
