The Economy

Unemployment dropped from 9.7% to 9.5% just in time for the Fourth of July fireworks, but is anybody really celebrating?

Aside from the fact that neither figure is accurate (i.e., the percentage of people not working is much higher), nobody seems to know how or when the employment percentage will begin to improve. When will those currently without jobs return to work?

Apparently, both political parties are willing to allow four more months of suffering (on the part of the unemployed not fat cats like them) in hopes of winning the November election.

With a plate of barbecued spareribs, a cold beer and lots of flag waving, our “honorable” officials will celebrate Independence Day just fine, singing “God Bless America” well into the dawn’s early light.
