“Tomorrow Never Comes” by David Brooks (TIMES, 2/18/11)

If David Brooks gave us as much attention to military spending as he does to the national debt, he might have some credibility as an economic analyst.

If President Obama would keep in mind who got out the vote that won hm the 2008 electin, he might  be able to do his job better today.

If the Democratic Party leaders would stop placating “warmhearted MAchiavellians” like former presidential adviser (and brooks’ good pal) Rahm Emanuel, maybe tomorrow wouldn’t have to be postponed.

Cutting the budget and lowering the taxes of the wealthiest citizens will not end the depression. Rather, it will worsen it. What is needed today is a massive federal jobs program.
