“‘Oops’ at Debate When Perry Can’t Get to Three” (TIMES, 11/10/11)

The Republicans don’t have a candidate for president of the United States and the election is less than a year away.  So, what’s going on?

The charade we are witnessing is an attempt to hold the attention of the Republican voters until the real candidate is revealed.

It’s like those show business movies of the Great Depression decade.  The lesser actors of a struggling theatrical group keep the audience in their seats until the star, stuck in traffic after an argument with his girlfriend, races onto the stage to lead everybody in singing “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

Instead of being distracted by these eight lackluster Republican candidates, the liberal media should be seeking out the real choice of the GOP leadership.  Who is it that is waiting in the wings?
