“Factory Jobs Gain, but Wages Retreat” (TIMES, 12/30/11)

With factory wages declining as the price for the return of manufacturing to the United States, we are observing the proletarianization  of American workers.  No longer can they claim to be a part of the middle class.  Moreover, this situation is not apt to change in the foreseeable future.

Does this mean the working class will understand its situation and take a closer look at the capitalist system?  No longer able to delude themselves that there is room for genuine advancement, might they take a more radical political stance?
