“Romney Isn’t Concerned” by Paul Krugman (TIMES, 2/3/12)

Of course Mitt Romney isn’t concerned about the plight of the poor! How can a presidential candidate for the party that blames the poor for its poverty show any compassion for its condition?

The questions Krugman should be asking Romney are: how many people did he make poor in his role as a Bain executive and did he show any concern for the effectiveness of the “safety net” when he was sending jobs abroad in order to raise the company’s profits?

Republican candidates for office are concerned with the conditions of the rich (the people who allegedly “create jobs”) and care not at all for the interests of the poor. Isn’t that why Rick Perry called Romney a “vulture capitalist”?
